Sr. Social Worker - Safeguarding & Care Planning - Middlesbrough

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Safeguarding & Care Planning team in Middlesbrough. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual who is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children and families. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing needs, developing care plans, and ensuring the safeguarding of children in our community.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify risks and needs.
  • Developing and implementing effective care plans in collaboration with families and other professionals.
  • Providing expert guidance and support to junior social workers and other team members.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with local authority policies.
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings to ensure a coordinated approach to safeguarding.
  • Engaging with families to promote positive outcomes and strengthen relationships.

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a relevant social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, CQSW, or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England. Essential skills include strong communication and interpersonal abilities, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of safeguarding legislation and best practices. Previous experience in a safeguarding or child protection setting is highly desirable.
