Are you a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker looking to make a real difference in the lives of children in care? Stockport Council is seeking a committed Social Worker to join our dynamic Children in Care team. In this vital role, you will work collaboratively with children, families, and various stakeholders to ensure the safety, welfare, and emotional well-being of our young people. If you are passionate about advocating for children and possess the skills to support their development, we want to hear from you!

As a Social Worker in our Children in Care team, your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks. Developing and implementing care plans in partnership with children, families, and other professionals. Providing direct support and advocacy for children in care, ensuring their voices are heard. Maintaining accurate case records and documentation in compliance with legal and organizational standards. Participating in multi-disciplinary meetings and contributing to team decision-making processes.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized Social Work qualification (Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Experience working with children and families, particularly within the care system. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
