Senior Practitioner - Extra Familial harm - Southwark

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Extra Familial Harm team in Southwark. This pivotal role will involve working closely with children and families to safeguard and promote the welfare of young people who may be at risk from external influences. You will be responsible for leading assessments, interventions, and support plans while collaborating with various agencies to ensure a holistic approach to child protection.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families affected by extra familial harm.
  • Developing and implementing effective intervention strategies tailored to individual needs.
  • Providing supervision and support to junior staff and fostering a culture of continuous professional development.
  • Engaging with external partners, including schools, law enforcement, and community organizations to coordinate services.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with a proven ability to manage complex cases.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and professionals.
