Senior Social Worker - Fostering Team- Barking & Dagenham
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Fostering Team in Barking & Dagenham. As a pivotal member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting vulnerable children and families, ensuring their well-being and promoting positive outcomes. Your expertise will guide and mentor junior staff while collaborating with various stakeholders to provide high-quality fostering services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing and reviewing the needs of children and foster families, ensuring that placements are appropriate and effective.
- Conducting thorough assessments and preparing reports for court proceedings, safeguarding meetings, and fostering panels.
- Providing supervision and support to social work staff, facilitating professional development and best practice.
- Working collaboratively with other agencies, including health services and education providers, to ensure comprehensive support for children in care.
- Participating in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to fostering services.
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Current registration with Social Work England.
- Significant experience in fostering or child protection, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with children, families, and professionals.
