We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Child Protection/Children in Need (CP/CIN) Team in Lowestoft, Suffolk. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable children and families within our community. The successful candidate will be offered a competitive rate of £40.50 per hour (umbrella) and will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children in need of protection and support.
As a Senior Social Worker, your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks. Developing and implementing effective care plans, ensuring the best outcomes for children. Collaborating with multi-agency partners to provide integrated support services. Supervising and mentoring junior social workers and support staff. Maintaining accurate and timely documentation in accordance with local authority policies. Participating in court proceedings and presenting evidence as required.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Current registration with Social Work England. A minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience in child protection or related fields. Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound judgments.
