In this critical role, you will ensure that the voices of children and young people are heard and that their rights are upheld throughout the care process. You will play a vital part in monitoring and reviewing the quality of care provided to children in the local authority's care, ensuring that their individual needs are met and that they receive the best possible outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting regular independent reviews of care plans for children and young people in care. Facilitating meetings with children, families, and professionals to gather insights and feedback. Monitoring the implementation of care plans and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Providing guidance and support to social workers and other professionals in best practices for child welfare. Advocating for children’s rights and ensuring their voices are central to decision-making processes.To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A relevant social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Extensive experience in children's social work, particularly in child protection and care proceedings. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
