Are you a passionate and dedicated social worker looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families? Swindon Borough Council is seeking a qualified Social Worker to join our Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team. In this role, you will work collaboratively with families, children, and other professionals to provide high-quality support, ensuring the best outcomes for children with disabilities and their families.

As a Children's Social Worker in the CWD Team, your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting assessments to identify the needs of children and families. Developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual circumstances. Providing ongoing support and guidance to families, ensuring they have access to necessary resources. Collaborating with multi-agency teams to facilitate effective service delivery. Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with legal and organizational standards.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

Qualified Social Worker status with a relevant degree (e.g., Social Work, DipSW, CQSW). Current Social Work England registration. Significant experience working with children and families, particularly those with disabilities. Strong assessment and analytical skills, with a commitment to child-centered practice. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with diverse families.

Join our dedicated and passionate Positive Futures Team in Swindon as a Children’s Social Worker. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. You will work closely with families, schools, and other professionals to assess needs, develop effective care plans, and ensure that children receive the support they deserve. Your expertise will be vital in making a positive impact on the lives of children and families within our community.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks. Developing and implementing tailored support plans in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams. Monitoring and reviewing the progress of children and families, making necessary adjustments to plans. Providing advice and support to children and families, ensuring their voices are heard and respected. Participating in court proceedings and presenting evidence when required.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Demonstrable experience in children’s social work, particularly in safeguarding and child protection. Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team and with external agencies.
